I wanted a Springfield TRP, but this came up (on sale) so I got it. Still looking at the TRP.
Then I realized I had a better deal, everything the TRP has and more, except for the ambidextrous safety. I'm abjectly right handed, so I don't need the ambi safety, anyway. This thing is a joy to shoot, there isn't anything about a 1911 Bob Serva doesn't know, this pistol shows it...

I got to go to the range this morning (07/21/24) to shoot my new Riptide 45ACP. I shot about 100 rounds, all 230 gr. Federal ball, Speer ball and JHP
Underwood Range and Speer Lawman +P JHP, Underwood +P JHP. The operation was perfect, the slide did glide (or glided?) on the rails. The entire operation felt very smooth.
I also have an FN New High Power the feels as good as the Riptide. It cost $500 more, too. This is my second Fusion pistol, I also have a Reaction in 10MM Auto. Both are well worth the money I spent.

Got my Riptide a few months ago, like many others I looked at gun forums to see how Fusion was reviewed. Mixed inputs from the various forums but one thing that keyed me into this purchase was the customer service was good and responsive. So I rolled the dice and came up with a win. Fit is awesome, machining was superb and action was like it had bearings between the slide and frame. Took it to the range and even though ammo is costly in todays market I put 250 rounds through it and had no issues with any part of the dynamic courses of fire. I will swap the sights out for XS-Sights to help my aging eyes and may go get it Cerakoted as I'm not a fan of Black Oxide coatings. Great purchase for me and if I had plenty of disposable cash I would get one of the custom 1911's as this company now earned my trust. A few hundred more rounds through the Riptide and I will put it into my inventory for EDC. I am a retired Navy Veteran and 1911's were our side arms until the early 90's. I am very familiar with GI types and how much they shaked, rattled and got abused, imagine over 400 personnel qualifying on the same 24 Remington/Colt Government models for years. With the Riptide you get a tight fit and same reliability as those government models. I think I can abuse this gun just as much also if I wanted. I will be keeping this company on my list of go-to buys.

I just got my Riptide C and spent a few hours on the range with it and my S.A. loaded. The Riptide performed flawlessly straight out of the box and rapidly became my all time favorite 1911. I used four types of ammo in the Riptide totaling 200 rounds of mixed ball and hollow points. Not one failure. Totally impressed.

I am very impressed with the riptide 1911 in 9mm that I purchased . The people at Fusion are a joy to deal with, and very helpful. Frame to slide fit is tight like a Les Baer. I am a 1911 Junkie and this is a great 1911 . Buy one , and see for yourself.

I have many 1911s, this is the best value with quality I have seen. Great handgun!

So im not new to 1911 handguns I own Springfield Armory trp-ro 45-ro 9mm-loaded mc operator Kimber ultra cary ii ss but I wanted to try something new while looking around on the web I bumped into fusion never ran across them before looked like a great deal with all the cool extras that you'd normally pay big bucks for yet it was still about the same price as my sa ro cost so I rolled the dice and ordered the riptide from grabagun while I waited for it to arrive I searched the web for reviews some where glowing some not so much so I was I bit worried I had made a mistake so when it showed up yesterday I was very pleased by what I found the fit and finish where great if I wanted to nitpick the only thing I could say was the outside fir of the Magwell could be more seamless but that IS nitpicking because it is still totally acceptable so I took it apart cleaned and oiled and went to the range I put 500 fmj and 50 sig hollow points through it with zero problems so needless to say I was stoked my range officer 9 won't run the sig hollow points the riptide did with zero problems the slide is every bit as smooth as my trp that cost $700 more and the trigger is the best of the bunch so maybe I got lucky but this pistol is amazing and for about the same price as a range officer! one thing I wish fusion did different is I wish they included more magazines because you always need more magazines also I should add I used the mag it came with and two sa mags that came with my ro and three tripp research cobra mags it worked with all of them thanks fusion! I'll be back

I purchased this handgun just days ago..I actually drove to Sarasota from Orlando. I was able to handle a few fusions from the Freedom Series to the Pro ...I honestly can't say I fondled a bad gun...every gun was meticulously crafted and oh if my wallet could sustain it...I'd brought home more of them. Ok so..onto my review of this 1911 Riptide. I got the commander size riptide ..the fit and finish it flawless. I know quality when I see it ...as a custom guitar builder I have a Keen eye for detail and manufacturing. The slide was smooth and tight fit...all pieces joined together flawlessly. Loaded with features on other brands that would have cost an absolute fortune. I have owned kimbers, Springfield, and even the high end Dan Wesson's.. so no stranger to what a good gun feels like and how's it's supposed to work. I grew up in a law enforcement family with a step dad who did gunsmithing...so I'm familiar with guns. So..I took my fusion riptide to the range the next day and threw a 100 rounds through it...it fed flawlessly...there was one ftf...but that's because my gf had never shot a gun and limpwristed it...otherwise no fails.... Gun is superbly accurate with 1 inch groups at 15 yards... My double taps laid right on top of each other and having the extended flared magwell was really easy to speed load. Gun operated as should and much more accurate than I am. I highly recommend fusion Firearms to anyone that's on the fence... Classy looks, tons of features, Rock solid build, my fav gun ever...will I buy another one...yes.. absolutely yes. My hats off to you guys at fusion...now if my gf will cheer up..she says she wishes I looked at her like I look at my gun...lol...God bless!
